Detail
Session data files are uploaded to the E-Prime Go website (https://eprimego.com) when an experiment that was packed in Automated Mode is run. The "Last Status" column on the E-Prime Go website's Sessions tab tracks the status of the experiment run and the data file submission.
The table below lists the E-Prime Go status messages and descriptions.
Status | Description |
New | Participant has clicked the "Run Task" button but the Startup Info prompts have not yet been presented. This status typically updates to Experiment Started. |
Experiment Started | The experiment has started to run. Once the experiment has completed and the session data files have been uploaded, this status typically updates to Complete. |
Experiment Finished (Awaiting Data) | The experiment has finished but the session data files upload process has not started. This status typically updates to Uploading Data. |
Uploading Data | The session data files are being uploaded to the server. This status typically updates to Complete after the data are uploaded. |
Canceled | The experiment session has been canceled. This usually indicates that the participant selected "Cancel" from the experiment's Startup Info prompts. In some rare cases the Canceled status may reflect an experiment that was completed but no .edat3 file was created; if so, check if an E‑Recovery file is uploaded and follow up with the participant. |
Runtime Error | A runtime error occurred while the task was running. The uploaded session data files include a RuntimeError.txt file that contains information about the error and an E‑Recovery text file and/or partial .edat3 file. Follow up with the participant. |
Complete | The experiment has finished without any runtime errors and the session data files have been uploaded. The Subject and Session columns should be populated and the .edat3 file should be included in the Session files. |
Quit | The participant encountered errors trying to run the experiment and has abandoned attempts to rerun the experiment. No session data files have been uploaded. Follow up with the participant. |
Experiment Failure | The participant encountered a critical failure during the experiment. No data files have been uploaded. Follow up with the participant to identify when the issue occurred and what happened. |
Incomplete | The experiment did not resolve to a Complete, Canceled, Runtime Error, or Quit status within 24 hours of the last status update. |
Submission History
The Last Status column reports the last Session status received by the E-Prime Go server. Hover over the status to see tooltips with more information about the status entry.
Clicking on the status brings up the Submission History dialog. Researchers can use the information presented in the Submission History dialog to verify when Status changes happened and if any issues occurred during the Session.
The Submission History dialog shows the following information:
- Subject number
- Session number
- Submission number
- Status entry
- Status timestamp (local time)
- Retry flag (Yes/No) - indicates if a retry attempt occurred (see INFO: E-Prime Go participants can retry submitting data files after a Data Transfer Error [41045] for more information)
