Detail
Experiment Status information is tracked on the E-Prime Go website (eprimego.com) as a participant progresses through the experiment for experiments packed in Automated mode. E-Prime Go version 1.0.3.61 introduces enhanced experiment status tracking and error handling.
With prior E-Prime Go versions, the Last Status is set to "Experiment Finished" for experiments that generate a runtime error. Additionally, a complete data set may not be uploaded to the E-Prime Go website. Sessions marked as "Experiment Finished" need to be investigated further as an error or early termination of the experiment may have occurred. In addition, participants need to locate the data files in C:\Users\[Account Name]\AppData\Local\Temp\epg\paradigms and submit them to the Study Coordinator as well as share any error messages that appear while running the experiment.
In E-Prime Go version 1.0.3.61, the Last Status is set to "Runtime Error" when a runtime error occurs and a RuntimeError.txt file is uploaded. The RuntimeError.txt file contains the following information:
- Error - the error number
- Line - the line in the experiment specification file (.ebs3) where the error occurred
- Message - the error description
The E-Recovery text file is also uploaded if available. These features eliminate the need for participants to manually submit the E-Recovery file to the Study Coordinator and document the runtime error message.
The current version (1.0.3.61) of the E-Prime Go website adds the following to the New, Experiment Started, and Complete statuses that were tracked in prior versions:
- Uploading Data
- Runtime Error
- Canceled
- Quit
- Experiment Failure
- Incomplete
In addition, "Experiment Finished" has been expanded to "Experiment Finished (Awaiting Data)". Refer to INFO: Experiment status on the E-Prime Go website [36990] for more information.
