Celeritas
Detail
Celeritas works "out-of-the-box" with any machine that supports Full Speed USB. This is because it creates generic HID keyboard and joystick devices in the operating system of choice, for wider use outside of E-Prime. This is what allows you to type letters into any text editor program or simulate keyboard input for your non-E-Prime experiments.
The HID devices that Celeritas creates are always active when the console is on and the USB connection is present. This means that when you use a third-party joystick for an E-Prime experiment on a machine with an active Celeritas connection, you may need to change your Joystick Device's Index property.
The default index number for a new Joystick Device is 1. If you connect the Celeritas console via USB before your joystick, then Index 1 belongs to the Celeritas joystick device, regardless of whether or not you connect a physical Celeritas joystick. In that case, you need to change the Index to 2 to use your third-party joystick.
