BUG: Applications unrelated to E-Prime open after running an experiment on Windows 10 [38073]

Symptoms

A "random" application(s) opens after E-Prime runtime ceases.

Detail

This bug has only been observed on Windows 10 (all releases). It does not occur after every run. Therefore, it occurs randomly (e.g., after 2 runs, after 5 runs, etc.). Typically, Windows Photos and Windows Settings are the applications that open. However, Windows Mail, Microsoft Edge and third-party applications such as Netflix have been observed opening after E-Prime runtime.

Workaround

There is no known workaround for this bug. Close any applications that may open unexpectedly.
