Detail
When designing your experiment, ensure the display resolution set in your Experiment Object Property Pages > Devices tab > Display properties are supported by your machine. E-Prime attempts to set the graphics system to run at the resolution specified in the Display device properties. If a non-supported setting is specified, then one of the following occurs:
- The Operating System "snaps" to a suitable replacement configuration that is similar to the E-Studio settings. For example, if the DisplayDevice is configured to 2000 x 1200 pixels, the Operating System may run the experiment at 1920 x 1080. As a result, the displays may appear to be distorted due to the incorrect x and y coordinate values in the experiment.
- A runtime error occurs because the Operating System does not identify a similar resolution that it can snap to.
The Operating System may set display requirements in addition to what your video card and monitor can display. See the following for details about your operating system:
- Windows 11 System Requirements
- Windows 10 System Requirements
- Windows 8 and 8.1 System Requirements
- Windows 7 System Requirements
If you are using E-Prime 3.0, you may run the experiment below to see a text file output of your machine's supported resolutions.
NOTE: In E-Prime's Display properties, popular resolutions and refresh rates are provided in the dropdown menu. However, you may type in any value supported by your machine.
