This article applies to:
E-Prime 3.0
This bug was first reported in E-Prime 3.0.3.60 (Update 1).
This bug has been corrected in E-Prime 3.0.3.80 (Update 2).
Symptoms
A text-file version of the data file (.edat3) is not created after a successful run of an experiment if launched with E-Run.
Detail
E-Studio supports the automatic creation of a tab-delimited version of the data file upon completion of the experiment. However, if the experiment is run by double-clicking on the generated E-Basic Script (.ebs3) file instead of from within E-Studio, then the tab-delimited file is not generated correctly: the file is created but it contains a warning message about the license rather than the experiment session data.
NOTE: The automatic text data export feature is only supported with a full E-Studio license; this feature is not supported with a Subject Station or Runtime license.
Solution
Upgrade to E-Prime 3.0.3.80 or later.
Workaround
This workaround is intended only for those who are unable to update to the version of E-Prime that contains the bug fix:
Launch the experiment from within E-Studio rather than by double-clicking on the E-Basic Specification (.ebs3) file.
