This article applies to:
E-Prime 3.0
This bug was introduced in E-Prime 3.0 (3.0.3.31).
This bug has been corrected in E-Prime 3.0 Update 2 (3.0.3.80)
Symptoms
When an E-Prime experiment specification file (.es3) is opened in E-Prime, the Windows Ding sound plays multiple times.
Detail
As each object in the experiment specification file is loaded into E-Studio, the Windows Ding sound plays. For experiments with large numbers of objects, the repetitive "dinging" can be distracting. This issue is restricted to experiment authoring sessions; the Windows Ding sound is not played when an experiment is run.
Solution
Update to E-Prime 3.0.3.80 (Update 2) or later.
Workaround
This workaround is intended only for those users who are unable to update to the E-Prime version that contains the bug fix.
Turn the master volume on your computer off while you load an experiment specification file into E-Studio. Make sure, however, to turn the master volume back on after the experiment is loaded.
