Although the option is available, we do not typically recommend using "Match Desktop Resolution" for the DisplayDevice. Setting a specific resolution in the DisplayDevice's Property Pages is encouraged to limit variability if testing on multiple machines. If "Match Desktop Resolution" is set to "Yes", an experiment can display differently on machines with varying resolutions.
By default, the value for this setting is "No" (which does not match the resolution). However, there is one scenario where matching the desktop resolution is the recommended option. This option is preferred when you have multiple DisplayDevices in your experiment. Setting this option to "Yes" when using multiple displays improves E-Prime's ability to accurately determine all display settings.
NOTE: As mentioned above, "Match Desktop Resolution" is recommended sparingly. Just because a machine can run at 1080p or 4K, doesn't mean it should be run at those resolutions. Accurate timing may be more difficult to achieve with higher resolutions.
