Experiment Description
This is two experiments, a simple 1-back test, and a more complex n-back test from Ben Robinson and Becky Fuller at Maryland.
Experiment Instructions
In this experiment, letters are presented individually in a random sequence. There is a target letter and non-target letters. During the practice trials press "1" when the target letter appears and "2" for a non-target letter. This is the rule for a Zero-Back trial. Trials from Zero-Back to Three-Back are included in this experiment. The Three-back block has a default Weight of 0 in List1. Adjusting the Weight value determines how many times the row in the List is sampled.
One-Back Instructions
When the letter on-screen matches the last letter presented, press "1". When the letter on-screen is not the same as the letter that came before it, press "2".
Two-Back Instructions
When the letter on-screen matches the letter presented two letters prior, press "1". When the letter on-screen is not the same as the letter presented two letters prior, press "2".
Three-Back Instructions
When the letter on-screen matches the letter presented three letters prior, press "1". When the letter on-screen is not the same as the letter presented three letters prior, press "2".
