The Prisoner's Dilemma experiment is a standard example of a game analyzed in game theory that shows why individuals might not cooperate, even if it appears that it is in their best interests.
Abstract
This experiment contains two different sections. First, it demonstrates the integration of a Big Five Personality Survey into E-Prime (BFASProc) and it demonstrates the implementation of a Prisoner's Dilemma task into E-Prime. The Big Five survey gives an analysis of where participants are rated on each of the Big Five personality traits. This also demonstrates how to read a .txt file into E-Prime as a List object.
The Prisoner's Dilemma is a game theory task that focuses on giving participants the ability to choose whether or not to betray a fellow criminal (high risk/high reward) or to cooperate (low risk/low reward).
