The AX-Continuous Performance Task (AX-CPT) measures a participant's active maintenance and cognitive control.
Abstract
In this task, the participant is presented with a series of trials in which they are instructed to make a response which distinguishes between stimuli. For example, the participant is instructed to press the '/' key if the target (X) was proceeded by an 'A'. Alternatively, the participant is instructed to respond with the 'Z' key for all target letters which were not preceded by an 'A'.
This task is split into 2 parts: the first part is a series of practice trials which help acclimate the participant to the task. The second part of the experiment contains a series of experimental trials which measures participant reaction time (RT) and accuracy (ACC).
