This article applies to:
E-Prime 2.0
Symptoms
A runtime error occurs during video playback.
Detail
One of the following errors occurs:
- 11031: Unable to update frame Marker 261
- 11093: Unable to buffer movie
- 11094: Unable to buffer movie - too many retries - Is the movie position start greater than its duration?
Workaround
Workaround 1:
Error 11031 with Marker 261 - E-Prime times out trying to load the movie in the buffer. In general, this issue occurs with machines using shared memory or on machines that do not meet our requirements (GETTING STARTED: E-Prime Machine Requirements [22669]). To fix this issue, ensure a codec pack is installed and run Codec Config to configure your machine (GETTING STARTED: Codec Config [22687]). If the issue persists, re-encoding the videos may help (e.g., re-encode in .wmv format). If the error occurs on a specific video file, you may want to try re-encoding the issue video. You may use third-party programs such as Format Factory or Handbrake to re-encode. If there are blank audio tracks on the file, you can also use the software to just encode the video only, as blank audio tracks may cause issues. Reducing the video resolution, number of videos, recreating the videos, and changing the video codecs can help alleviate this error as well.
Error 11094 - E-Prime errors because the Start Position is greater than the total duration of the E-Object. To fix this issue, ensure the Start Position is not greater than the duration of the video. For more information on Start Position see E-STUDIO: MovieDisplay Object [22706] and E-STUDIO: SlideMovie Sub-object [23597]. If your Start Position is not greater than its duration, consider re-encoding or recreating the video files.
Error 11093 - E-Prime errors because a proper codec pack is not installed. To fix this issue, ensure a codec pack is installed and run Codec Config to configure your machine. For more information see GETTING STARTED: Codec Config [22687].
If the issue persists, follow the troubleshooting steps below.
Workaround 2:
Upgrade to E-Prime 3.0. E-Prime 3.0 includes FFMpeg which allows E-Prime to play a wider range of audio and video formats. This feature is more efficient in video playback and promotes consistent playback across machines.
