The Sentence Symbol Comparison Task tests a participant's ability encode sentences for simultaneous comparison with symbols.
Abstract
In this task, participants are first shown a sentence. The sentence states where one symbol exists in relation to another symbol (e.g., Star is Above Plus). After 3000 ms the sentence disappears, and 2 symbols (i.e., + and *) are shown on the screen. Participants must decide if the symbol location is where the sentence stated. Participants press "1" if the sentence was correct and "2" if the sentence was incorrect. The experiment contains a set of practice trials that present feedback.
