E-Prime 2.0
This bug has been corrected in E-Prime 2.0 (2.0.10.353).
Symptoms
The StartupInfo Editor window is a 'modeless' window, which means the StartupEditor window can remain open but lose focus to another window. This can cause confusion because the StartupInfo Editor window can be open but in the background of E-Studio or another program window.

The StartupInfo Editor application, which is only available to E-Prime 2.0 Professional edition users, enables users to load name/value pairs into the Context object of an experiment. See the E-Prime 2.0 New Features/Reference Guide for details on this application.
The preferred way to open the StartupInfo Editor application is from within E-Studio. From the Menu bar in E-Studio, select Edit > "Experiment…" > Startup Info tab. Then, click on one of the two buttons in the External StartupInfo Parameters field, "Edit Local Values" or "Edit Global Values".

When the StartupInfo Editor application is launched, it does not require the user to exit the application before continuing to work in E-Studio. Since the user may click on another window within E-Studio or another application on the desktop prior to closing the StartupInfo Editor application, it may not be evident that the StartupInfo Editor application is still open.
NOTE: Both Standard and Professional edition users can edit the prompts for session level parameters that appear at the start of each experiment run by accessing the StartupInfo tab as described above and editing the StartupInfo Parameters. This functionality is also documented in the New Features/Reference Guide. This bugfix is specific to launching the StartupInfo Editor to edit external StartupInfo parameters, and does not apply to editing StartupInfo Parameters on the StartupInfo tab within E-Studio.
Solution
Upgrade to E-Prime 2.0.10.353 or later.
This version changes the StartupInfo Editor application to be a modal window, which therefore prevents clicking outside of the window until it is closed.
Workaround
This workaround is intended only for those who are unable to update to the E-Prime version that includes the bug fix:
Save your work within StartupInfo Editor and then exit the application prior to resuming work within E-Studio.
