This article applies to:
E-Prime 2.0
This item has been corrected in E-Prime 2.0 (2.0.10.353).
Symptoms
When clicking on the link to a .txt file at the bottom of E-Studio's Output window, Windows displays a warning saying that the .txt file is an untrusted file type.
Detail
A new addition to the E-Prime 2.0 Production Release (version 2.0.10.242) are hyperlinks at the bottom of E-Studio's Output window to any output files that are created with each run of an experiment. This feature allows fast and easy access to the data (.edat2) file that is created after an experiment has been run from E-Studio. The Output window also includes links to any text (.txt) files that were either added as an Output window file with a call to the Rte.AddOuptutFile method (see E-Basic help for details) or created by E-Run as a recovery file due to terminating the experiment early (see FEATURE: Conditional Exit (Graceful Abort)). The Professional Edition also includes a link to the Experiment Advisor report. In the Production Release, clicking on a .txt file in the Output window to open it results in Windows displaying a warning message that the.txt file is an untrusted file type.
NOTE: The warning message does not appear when clicking on the .edat2 or Experiment Advisor report files.
Solution
Upgrade to E-Prime 2.0.10.353 or later.
Workaround
This workaround is only intended for those who are unable to update to the version of E-Prime that contains the bug fix:
To access the.txt file, press OK to the warning message. This gives Windows permission to open this file.
