The Toolbox is a framed window that displays the icons of all currently registered E-Objects. The Toolbox is docked by default along the left side of the application window and can be resized using standard platform sizing and positioning mechanisms. The E-Objects within the Toolbox can be customized via the context menu to be displayed using either large or small icons, and with or without descriptive labels (i.e.,captions). Right click to display the context menu.
Toolbox Defaults
E-Prime includes the ability to customize the default properties of objects when they are added to the experiment from the Toolbox. Right clicking in the Toolbox area reveals the Toolbox Defaults from the context menu.
The properties associated with E-Objects appear, and their default values can be modified and saved. The properties for a Text Display object are shown below. After the properties are modified, any new object that is created by dragging from the toolbox will have the user-modified default values. (The Toolbox Defaults do not affect objects currently in the experiment, only newly created objects). You also have the ability to set the defaults on SlideState, SlideText, SlideImage, SlideMovie, SlideSoundOut, SlideSound, SlideChoice, SlideSlider, and SlideButtons in objects. You can also import the default settings from one experiment file into another experiment file.
Watch Toolbox Defaults for more information on the Toolbox Defaults feature.
