Unreferenced E-Objects is an area in the Experiment Structure that contains E-Objects that are either unused or called via script (but not called by a Procedure).
When working in E-Studio, E-Objects that are deleted from the Structure are not removed from the interface but instead are placed in Unreferenced E-Objects. Similarly, E-Objects that are no longer referenced on any Procedure in the experiment structure are also placed in the Unreferenced E-Objects node. This feature supports the iterative nature of experiment development and implementation and allows those E-Objects to be used at a later time without having to recreate them from scratch.
Deleting a Single E-Object from Unreferenced E-Objects
E-Studio has always provided the ability to permanently remove items from the Unreferenced E-Objects node one at a time. To do, perform the following:
- Select an individual item from Unreferenced E-Objects.
- Either click the Delete button in the Application Toolbar or right click and select Delete from the content menu.
- Answer "Yes" to permanently delete the E-Objects.
Deleting all Unreferenced E-Objects at once
All of the E-Objects under Unreferenced E-Objects can be deleted with one action, rather than having to delete them all individually.
To delete all of the objects in the Unreferenced E-Objects node, perform the following:
- In the Experiment Structure, select Unreferenced E-Objects.
- Right click to bring up the context menu.
- Select "Delete all from Unreferenced E-Objects."
- Answer "Yes" to permanently delete the E-Objects.
NOTE: Answering "Yes" to the confirmation prompt immediately and permanently deletes all of the E-Objects in the Unreferenced E-Objects node.
