This article applies to:
E-Prime 3.0
Symptoms
The following runtime error occurs:
Invalid state for Start, call Load first 20.
Detail
When upgrading an experiment from E-Prime 2.0 to E-Prime 3.0, you may encounter the "Invalid state for Start" error. In previous versions of E-Prime, the Generate PreRun property's default value was "TopOfProcedure." In E-Prime 3.0, this property has a default value of "BeforeObjectRun." When TopOfProcedure is set on the Procedure that the sound is played on, a runtime error occurs during the stimulus presentation.
Workaround
Set Generate PreRun to "BeforeObjectRun" for the Procedure that the audio is presented on (Refer to TIMING: Timing of E-Objects [22852] for information on Generate PreRun).

“My audio stimulus is called by an inline object within the procedure. It's already set to "BeforeObjectRun" and this did not address the error. ”
