Detail
To avoid potential practice effects, two methods of testing may be used; interval between test sessions, and alternate forms.
For tests evaluating cognitive status, annual testing is typically considered appropriate, but the user may determine an appropriate test interval for their protocol. If a protocol includes memory tasks involving recall, longer delays between test sessions are recommended (e.g., minimum of 3-6 months). For protocols primarily assessing processing speed, minimal delays (e.g., 2-3 weeks) may be acceptable.
Interval:
The table below may be used as a quick reference for retesting timeframes:
Previous Test Status | Recommended Timeframe for Retesting |
Complete | Annual |
User Terminated | 4 weeks if recall tasks were presented |
Missing Measures | 4 weeks |
Technical Failure | 4 weeks if recall tasks were presented |
Did Not Qualify | Investigate causes for discontinuation, no minimum required |
Timing Error | No minimum required |
Refresh Rate Error | No minimum required |
Calibration Error | No minimum required |
Alternate Forms:
CAMCI-Research provides multiple forms presenting consistent tasks, but different stimuli per form.
