E-Prime 3.0
Detail
E-Prime versions 3.0.3.60 (and later) have functionality to detect dead refreshes.
What is a dead refresh?
A dead refresh is defined as when the logged difference between vertical blanks is less than the DeadRefreshThreshold set by E-Prime. This typically happens at the end of multi-monitor experiments when the Display devices are being cleaned up and restored back to their original resolution and refresh rate.
What does it mean if I see dead refreshes in the Debug Output Window or get an error?
If the dead refreshes are before the experiments first E-Object's .OnsetTime or after the last E-Object's .OffsetTime, the dead refreshes are of no concern.
NOTE: The time is reported in microseconds.
If the dead refreshes occur during the experiment and/or result in a runtime error, please contact PST support to help with analysis of the issue.
