This bug has been corrected in E-Prime 2.0 (2.0.8.39).

Symptoms

Nearly every property in a MovieDisplay is not loaded. The only way to get MovieDisplay to work properly is to set the filename property to an attribute reference.

Solution
Upgrade to E-Prime 2.0.8.39 or later.
