Detail
PST recommends disabling any network connections before using E-Run to collect data. Any type of wireless or wired connection can interfere with timing.
If possible, physically remove the ethernet cable from the machine in use. Even if a machine is not using an internet connection, it can still be pinged by local machines or devices which can interrupt timing. In addition, many networks configure machines to synchronize their clock with an external server, in which synchronization could happen during an experiment run and cause timing problems.
This does not apply to experiments using the Socket device. In that case, we recommend that only a local connection is enabled.
