This article documents the prerequisites that must be installed prior to performing an E-Prime 2.0 installation. This article is intended for users who do not have an active internet connection available during installation or are deploying via MSI.
 
.NET 3.5 SP1
This Prerequisite is required by Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 10. The E-Prime installer automatically searches online for the .NET 3.5 version needed for your specific configuration. You do not need to manually install .NET 3.5 SP1 if you are running on Windows XP or Windows Vista and performing a Full E-Prime 2.0 installation as opposed to a minimal installation.

For earlier than Windows 8, the .NET 3.5 SP1 Full Installation (232MB) is available from the following sites:

NOTE: .NET 3.5 SP1 must be installed first; otherwise, errors will occur when attempting to install Visual Studio 2005 Update and Visual Studio 2008 Update. Once .NET 3.5 SP1 is installed, the remaining prerequisites can be downloaded in any order.

 

The following .NET 3.5 SP1 information applies to Windows 8/8.1 and 10 only.

 

NOTE: .NET 3.5 SP1 does not have an offline installer provided by Microsoft for Windows 8/10. If you wish to install this offline, you must use a Windows image.
 
To check your machine for the presence/status (On or Off) of .NET 3.5, we recommend using Windows Features. For example:
 

 
The .NET 3.5 SP1 may be installed via Control Panel (1), group policy (2), or Dism.exe (3) with the appropriate Windows image*.

*The example below assumes that the Windows Image is on the E drive and that the .NET 3.5 installer is located in Sources\sxs.

.NET 4.0
This prerequisite is required by Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. You do not need to manually install .NET 4.0 if you are running on Windows 8 and beyond or are performing a Full E-Prime 2.0 installation as opposed to a minimal installation.
