The Visual Search Task tests perception in participants by actively scanning visual environments for a particular object (the target) among other objects (the distractors).
Abstract
In this Visual Search experiment, a prime of an animal name is given to the participant. Next, a fixation cross is presented at the center of the screen followed by the stimuli. During the stimulus presentation, 6 animals are presented on the screen. Participants must find the animal given as the prime as quickly and accurately as possible. This is completed by hovering over the animal with a mouse. After the participant fixates upon an animal, feedback is presented that shows accuracy and reaction time.
NOTE: Extra image resources are provided in the case you wish to expand the experiment with more animals.
