Symptoms
E-Studio suddenly closes as soon as any action is performed in the Structure view. Also, E-Studio sometimes closes as soon as a new experiment is loaded using the File > Open dialog.

Solution
Do not run (or at least be suspicious of running) E-Studio v1.x with the free desktop utility Virtual Dimension.
