This bug has been fixed in E-Prime 1.1 SP2.
Symptoms
E-Studio crashes when attempting to save an experiment. Further examination reveals that the author field (located under the Experiment Object properties) contains extended characters commonly found in Japanese or Chinese languages.
Detail
This is caused by improper handling of multi-byte character set characters.
Solution
Update to E-Prime 1.1 SP2 or later.
Workaround
This workaround is intended only for those who are unable to update to the version of E-Prime that contains the bug fix:
Make the author field blank prior to saving an experiment for the first time.
