E-Prime 1.1
E-Prime 1.0
This bug has been fixed in E-Prime 1.1 SP1.
Symptoms
When using counterbalancing in an experiment, more than one row/level or none at all are sampled during the experiment. The expected behavior when counterbalancing is for only one row to be run/sampled based on the offset of the "group by" value.
Detail
Caused by an internal design error, the List does not correctly ensure that the reset condition is Samples=1, the exit condition is Samples=1, and Reset Every Run is True/Checked when using counterbalancing. This makes it so that running a List multiple times will not sample properly.
Solution
Update to E-Prime 1.1 SP1 or later.
E-Prime 1.1 Service Pack 1 ensures that the reset condition is Samples=1, the exit condition is Samples=1, and Reset Every Run is True/Checked and updates the interface accordingly. Experiments with improper values that are loaded into E-Prime 1.1 SP1 will have these values automatically changed.
Workaround
This workaround is intended only for those who are unable to update to the version of E-Prime that contains the bug fix:
Update to E-Prime 1.1 SP1 or later. Ensure that the reset condition is Samples=1, the exit condition is Samples=1, and Reset Every Run is True/Checked.
