Experiment Description:
The experiment starts with two training phases for which participants learn how to identify slow and fast speeds. During the first training phase, the speeds are labeled and the participant simply observes. During the second training phase, the speed is presented without a label and participants have to identify if it was slow or fast. They are supposed to push the left joystick button for slow and the right joystick button for fast. I have changed the code so that it should work with a mouse (or a joystick that emulates a mouse).
During the test trials, the ball moves as a speed in between the slow and fast speeds, and participants have to block it with a paddle. The paddle is set to 1 of 3 sizes on each trial. After each attempt to block the ball, participants estimate the speed of the ball and whether it moved more like the slow speed or more like the fast speed. The experiment lasts about 30 minutes.
