This sample experiment demonstrates the use of multiple monitor support and provides an example of how to present two types of tasks.
 
NOTE: This functionality requires at least E-Prime 2.0 Professional. E-Prime 2.0 Standard and E-Prime 1.x are not supported.
 
Abstract
Multiple monitor support works by adding multiple Display devices to the experiment and then specifying which Display device each object should be presented on.

 
To add a Display device, double-click the Experiment object at the top of the 'Structure' window to open its Property Pages. Then, navigate to the 'Devices' tab and click 'Add'. Once you have added a Display device, you can edit its properties. The 'Display Index' property indicates which monitor the device maps to. For example, a 'Display Index' of '1' means that the device maps to the primary monitor as specified in Windows. You can verify the order of monitors on your machine via Windows Display Settings.

 
To specify which Display device is used to present an object, open the object's Property Pages, navigate to the 'General' tab, and specify the Display device name under the 'Display Name' property. Like most properties in E-Prime, you can vary the value in 'Display Name' using an attribute reference.

 
This task presents an X and a Y on both monitors simultaneously. This is implemented by setting the 'Duration' property of the first 'Stimulus' object to '0'. This is done so that the second stimulus object is presented immediately after the first. Scoring and duration are recorded on the second slide.

 
An optional InLine script displays the feedback display on the screen that matches the subject's response.

 
NOTE: If your screens have different configurations or resolutions, go to the 'Devices' tab described above, click on your Display device, click on 'Edit', and set 'Match desktop resolution at runtime' to 'Yes'.

 
You may add up to eight monitors to an experiment. Keep adding display devices as noted above. Then, add additional Slide objects to the experiment, name them appropriately, and set their 'Duration' property to '0'. To avoid confusion, work from left to right and keep the last slide in a set as the 'scoring' Slide object.
