E Prime & Curry 8 (NuAmps) Task Events/Triggers

I have encountered a problem when using EPrime to send task events to Curry 8 EEG data stream. The error reports that I am trying to write to an input device. However I have set up the parallel port device as an output in the experiment. So I am at a loss to how to proceed from on there. I set up the task event to first write a byte and then to reset after a 20ms delay at the onset of the slide or stimulus. Any help regarding this is appreciated. Thank you
