We are having a problem running a scientific study with eprime-3.
The experiment displays 3 sets of 6 pictures to the participant and records his vocal reactions to the pictures. For each picture, the participant should speak up their minds and the experiment records it to a separate file. We want the participant to talk at least one minute for each picture without the ability to move for the next item. In order to do so, each picture has 2 slides: one that lasts for 60,000 ms without the ability to move the next picture, and one with keyboard input mask that allow terminating the slide by the SPACE key. This way, participants can only move to the next photo/phase after one minute.
Between the sets of 6 pictures, the participant see a maze that he should try to solve using the mouse.
The problem is that, at a random point, the experiment exits without any notification or error message. This happened in the past (we have already run 40 participant), but in the last month it is almost impossible to run the experiment, and the problem occurs most of the times.
We have tried to find out what causes this problem, but everything in the design looks ok. Is there any tip you can give us to resolve this issue? Is it an issue with recording in EPrime? Anything else ?
