Questions about Using Sound In for Trial Feedback
I am trying to implement a basic task that will be used in order to provide feedback based on a separate task that participants will be performing (not using e-prime).
The experiment needs to determine whether or not a sound is detected (from the separate experiment) and then needs to provide feedback on the basis of whether or not this sound should have been made. I have some syntax that will make this feedback determination on the basis of whether or not there is a reaction time detected for each trial, but my question is whether or not external hardware such as Chronos will be capable of providing that information if I purchase the device or if there may be any alternative solutions?
We don't really care about the sound files that are gathered aside from using them to determine whether or not participants were "correct" for each trial as they perform. Alternatively, would Chronos be capable of determining reaction times if the speakers from the separate task are fed in directly using the sound in jack on the device?
I would appreciate if anyone has done anything similar and may be able to share their experiences.
