I'm using Chronos with E-prime 3.0 to record a speech (one word) after a stimulus is presented on the screen. Once the participant begins to speak, the trial ends and the stimulus disappears from the screen; however, the recording also ends abruptly when the trial ends even though the participant has not finished their response. Why might this be happening and what might a possible solution be? I do not want to set a minimum amount of time for the stimulus to be on the screen. I would like to keep it as it is with the stimulus remaining on the screen until the participant begins to speak and then it disappearing.
I am using Task Events where the event begins at stimulus onset time. The action is "AudioInRecord". All other Task Event options are set to default.
In the Property Pages of the experiment object for which the Task Event is set, in the "Duration/ input" tab, Duration is set as "Duration." Under "Response Options: Chronos" Time Limit is "same as duration" and End Action is "Terminate." Nothing is written in "Advanced."
In the Chronos Device Properties in the "Audio In" tab, Start Mode is set to "immediate" and Stop Mode is set to "normal" (as the manual suggests for single stimuli tasks). Everything else was left in its default settings.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
