Cannot open .dat2 data aid file

Has anyone ever received the following error (please see pic below) when trying to open one of the data aid files that stores all of the variables being recorded?  We have never encountered this problem before, either with data from this experiment or other experiments, but it is all of a sudden an issue.  I cannot find anything about it elsewhere on the web.
