E-Prime 3 Error Number: 101
Hello,
I am trying to adapt a colleague's experiment (currently E-Prime 3 but the task was initially built in E-Prime 2). The experiment seems to load and run okay until a certain response is made that requires auditory feedback. When that response is made, the experiment crashes and a runtime error appears reading "Cannot access sound presenter for playing". The error message also points me to the inline code where the crash occurs (sound file name + ".play").
I made that the audio file selected was working (.wav). The properties for this audio file match others that seem to be working correctly in the experiment. Any advice? Thanks!

Hi Amanda,
I had the same problem and thanks to my colleagues I could solve it quickly. E-Prime 3 seems to have troubles mit sound objects placed outside the main "Session procedure" (i.e. at the bottom under "unreferenced E-Objects"). A simple solution would thus be to move the sound objects from the bottom up to the beginning of the experiment (this would mean that these sound will be played at the beginning of the exp what is acceptable I believe in most cases). Also ensure that the "buffer mode" of your sound objects is adjusted to "buffered" (and not to "streaming"). This should help (though I don't know why)!
