E-Prime Go 1.0
Symptoms
Text is present in the Disclaimer, Start Instructions, Stop Instructions, and Failure Text fields even though the researcher did not specify any.
Detail
When packing an experiment, the E-Prime Go interface has helper text in the 4 entry fields (specified above) to guide researchers on what to enter.
Even if a researcher does not want any text specified, the helper text appears when unpacking and running an experiment.
This text can be confusing to participants who are not familiar with the E-Prime Go interface and may view the helper text as suggestions for how to proceed with the task.
Workaround
Use one of the workarounds below to avoid this issue:
- write appropriate text in each field
- place a blank "space" in each entry field to show nothing
