DirectSound may contribute to slow processing speed of an experiment.
DirectSound may cause delays to slow reporting of the status of the SoundBuffer.
NOTE: DirectSound is not recommended on Windows 7 and beyond.
This workaround is intended only for those who are unable to update to the version of E-Prime that contains the fix:
You may implement one or more of the following:
- Switch to any Sound API other than DirectSound.
- Use Attribute references instead of direct paths.
- Reduce the number of SoundBuffers.
