E-Prime introduced a feature that recognizes when smart quotes are included in text that is being copied into an InLine object, and prompts the user to first normalize the smart quotes before pasting the text into E-Studio.
Quotation marks entered directly from the keyboard onto an InLine object are normalized quotes. However, quotation marks copied from a text editor and pasted into an InLine object may be smart quotes. This can result in experiment generation errors because smart quotes are not supported on InLine objects. When text that contains a smart quote is pasted into an InLine, E-Prime recognizes the smart quotes and prompts the user with the following:
