Copying and Pasting Data
The Copy command (Ctrl+C) in the Edit menu copies the contents of the currently selected cell, cells, rows, or columns to the clipboard. This information may then be pasted (using the Paste command from the Edit menu) into a selected area within the spreadsheet, or into another application.
The Paste command (Ctrl+V) in the Edit menu pastes the contents of the clipboard into the selected cell, cells, or column. Only three types of paste functions are supported.
- One piece of data from the clipboard to one cell.
- One piece of data from the clipboard to a range of cells one column wide.
- One column of data from the clipboard to a range of cells one column wide.
With the exception of number two, the copy area and the paste area must be the same size and shape.
