This article documents the prerequisites that must be installed prior to performing an E-Prime 3.0 installation. This article is intended for users who do not have an active internet connection available during installation or are deploying via MSI.

NOTE: Please view RELEASE INFO: Operating system (Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, and XP) support in E-Prime [18652] for information on what versions of Windows are compatible with E-Prime 3.0

.NET 3.5 SP1
This Prerequisite is required by Windows 8/8.1/10/11. The E-Prime installer automatically searches online for the .NET 3.5 version needed for your specific configuration.
 
NOTE: .NET 3.5 SP1 does not have an offline installer provided by Microsoft for Windows 8/8.1/10/11. If you wish to install this offline, you must use a Windows image.
 
To check your machine for the presence/status (On or Off) of .NET 3.5, we recommend using Windows Features. For example:
 

 
NOTE: .NET 3.5 SP1 must be installed first; otherwise, errors occur when attempting to install Visual Studio 2008 Update and Visual Studio 2012 Update. Once .NET 3.5 SP1 is installed, the remaining prerequisites can be installed in any order.
 
The .NET 3.5 SP1 may be installed via Control Panel (1), group policy (2), or Dism.exe (3) with the appropriate Windows image*.

*The example below assumes that the Windows Image is on the E drive and that the .NET 3.5 installer is located in Sources\sxs.

.NET 4.5.2
This Prerequisite is required by Windows 7 and 8/8.1. You do not need to manually install .NET 4.5.2 if you are performing a Full E-Prime 3.0 installation (via the flash drive) as opposed to the Minimal installation.
