Installation
Installation of the E-Prime software requires administrative rights. If you do not have administrative rights, you will not be able to install E-Prime. Contact your System Administrator if you are unsure of your administrative privileges.
For more information on the different installation options, please view GETTING STARTED: Installation Options [22671]
NOTE: The current version of E-Prime 3.0 will uninstall any previous versions of 3.0 prior to installing the latest version.
- Close all Windows applications.
- Connect the E-Prime installation media to your computer or download the E-Prime installer from the Support site.
- Run Setup.exe to begin the installation.*
- Click the type of installation desired and begin the installation (i.e., Full Suite or Subject Station).
- Read the End User License Agreement in full and accept the terms of use.
- Enter or verify your User Name, Institution, and serial number.
- Select the type of installation to run and follow the instructions on the screen. The complete installation is recommended. This places E-Prime in the ...Program Files(x86)\Pst\ E-Prime…folder if running the 64 bit editions of the operating system and Program Files\PST\E-Prime if running the 32-bit editions of the operating system. Select the Custom Installation option if you need to change the location of the installation folder.
- Click Install to begin the installation.
- Finish the installation and verify the InstallShield Wizard Completed dialog box appears. At this point, the installation is complete. However, prior to using E-Prime, you must complete the Registration and Validation process (See article 39159 (direct link coming soon)).
* Prerequisite system components may be installed at this point, which may require a system restart. After restarting your computer, reconnect the installation media to restart the E-Prime installation.
To perform the Registration and Validation process after installation, confirm that the “Launch E-Studio” box is checked. To perform the Registration and Validation step later, uncheck the “Launch E-Studio” check box and click Finish.
Updates and Upgrades to E-Prime

For more information on updating your version of E-Prime, please view INSTALL: E-Prime Check for Updates [27785].
An Upgrade of E-Prime is described as going from one major version of E-Prime to another (e.g., E-Prime 2.0 to E-Prime 3.0). If upgrading your version of E-Prime, please refer to the following article: INSTALL: Upgrading from a Previous Version of E-Prime [22673].
