E-Prime 2.0 allows for image formats *.bmp, *.jpg, *.jpeg, *gif, *.png, *.tif, *.tiff, *.emf, *.wmf
NOTE: Animated GIF files are not supported.
Compressed image formats require additional CPU time to expand. Therefore, additional PreRelease will need to be factored for your paradigms to avoid OnsetDelay values.
In general, using a JPG is aprx six times slower than a BMP version of the same image.
The following table shows the time in milliseconds required to load a 1280x835 photo of a person surf boarding (see thumbnail).

* - More detailed images will require additional time. Less detailed and smaller images will require less time. Experiment run twice before collecting data to ensure images were in operating system disk cache.
