E-Merge has been updated to default to using .emrg2 extension by default.
NOTE: There are no binary file format differences between edat/edat2 and emrg/emrg2 file formats.
Files of any extension that contain UNICODE characters will appear as | characters in E-Prime 1.x versions.
The addition of the edat2 and emrg2 file extensions were created for consistency with the other E-Prime 2.0 file extensions and also to assist with inadvertantly overwriting existing files from a previous version or study that is ongoing.
