Abstract="Abstract\r\nThis experiment demonstrates using the .DATA property of the \r\nResponseData object to differentiate between left and right \r\nSHIFT/ALT key presses.\r\n\r\nThe .RESP property of a ResponseData object will return bracket \r\nnotation of the response if a special character key was pressed. For\r\nexample, pressing the left SHIFT key will result in a .RESP value of \r\n{SHIFT}. However, the ResponseData object also has a .DATA \r\nproperty that returns the device specific entry for the response. \r\nThat is, a unique integer value of the key that was pressed. For \r\nexample, the left SHIFT key will return a .DATA value of 42, and \r\nthe right SHIFT key will return a .DATA value of 54.\r\n\r\nSince the left or right SHIFT/ALT keys cannot be specified within \r\nthe E-Studio GUI, InLine script following the Stimulus object must \r\nuse the .DATA property to determine which key was pressed. In \r\nthe first block of trials, this is used to simply set the appropriate \r\nStimulus.ACC value. In the second block of trials, a Goto \r\ncommand is used to loop back to the Stimulus until the subject \r\npresses the correct key."
