Abstract="This experiment is a modification of BasicRT used to measure key\r\nrelease times in response to a stimulus.  A fixation is presented, and\r\nthe subject must press and hold the SPACEBAR in order to initiate\r\nthe trial.  The stimulus is presented after a variable duration (500 or\r\n1000 msec).  When the X or Y stimulus appears, the subject is to release\r\nthe SPACEBAR.  Reaction time (i.e., release time) is measured from\r\nthe onset of the Stimulus object to the release of the SPACEBAR.  A Debug \r\nstatement is used at the end of the trial to indicate that the time \r\nbetween stimulus onset and release time are equal to the RT logged for \r\nthe Stimulus object.\r\n\r\nTo collect key releases, open the Experiment object, select the Devices\r\ntab, select the appropriate response device, and click Edit.  The Collection \r\nMode field in the Device Properties dialog allows the selection of the type\r\nof response to collect (i.e., presses, releases, both presses and releases).\r\nTo specify a release, use a \"-\" before the key name within curly braces {}.  \r\nFor example, to specify a press of the SPACEBAR, indicate {SPACE}.  To specify\r\na release of the SPACEBAR, indicate {-SPACE}.  Refer to the {KEY} Nomenclature\r\ntopic in the E-Basic Help for more information, and a listing of special keys.\r\n\r\nLimitations:  This experiment does not implement a check to make sure the\r\nSPACEBAR is down prior to presenting the stimulus.  That is, the \r\nSPACEBAR is used to advance from the fixation to the stimulus, but\r\nadditional checks should be put in place to determine that the \r\nSPACEBAR is still pressed (has not been released) prior to presenting \r\nthe stimulus."
