I have been struggling getting a joystick working on version 2.0.1.104.
I have 2 joysticks at my disposal; a Logitech wingman rumblepad (USB) and a homebuilt MRI compatible analog joystick that plugs into the old-fashion joystick port. I have a basic eprime program that simply reads the position and buttons and displays them.
With neither joystick defined on the system, the program fails to start. (good)
With the USB joystick plugged in, the program works fine. The values change when I move the joystick and push buttons. (good)
With the analog joystick is plugged in, the position values remain unchanged with motion (but are non-zero and comparable to those from the USB joystick when it is centered), and the buttons do not work. However, windows does recognize the joystick and allows me to calibrate it, etc (i.e. it seems to work under windows).
Obviously, I need the analog stick for my experiments. Does anybody have an idea of why it does not work?

Hello,
The issue with E-Prime 2 recognizing/using game port-based joysticks has been replicated and the limitation has been entered into our internal tracking system as a top priority issue. This limitation will be addressed in a future software release.
Although we are not able to test every available joystick with E-Prime 2, we have been able to test many of the most popular USB models with consistent success. A USB joystick could serve as a development tool for you until the game port issue has been resolved.
Thank you for your patience and continued support of E-Prime 2.
