| I am using the microphone that came with the SRBox for the voice key, and the volume is turned up to maximum sensitivity. However, the microphone has to be very close to your mouth for a sound to register. The manual says that 7-8 inches is the best distance, but I need to get it as close as 2 or 3 inches for it to work. Does anyone know why this may be the case? Thank you.

| In my experience, the way you speak into the microphone can affect its sensitivity. When the mic is not picking up a participant's responses, I instruct them to hold it out and at an angle and speak down into it. When they hold it straight up and down, it seems as if their voice skims over the top and it doesn't register as well. Hope this helps! -Sarah

| Sorry for the stupid question but is it possible to register a RT with an external mic (reading time) and at the same time record the sound response ? I get the recording ok but the Rt is not registered. Thanks for your help.

| To adjust the trip threshold of a microphone connected to the SRBox, you can add an InLine object and paste the following script: Debug.Print SRBox.VoiceKeyTripLevel SRBox.VoiceKeyTripLevel = 0 The colored value could be 0 to 31. 0 is the lowest threshold, and 31 the highest. Related information could be found in e-studio→help→E-basic→SRBox.VoiceKeyTripLevel.
