Hello,

As others in the forum, we encountered problems to uninstall the 0.1.57 version of EPRIME 2. The same problem occurred in two different computers. The solution you suggested in your reply to users having the same problem does not work.
Could you please send the package you mentionned in one of your reply.
Since last week we cannot run our new experiment either with Eprime1 (stimuli are mainly video) or with EPRIME 2. We would appreciate a prompt help.

Thank you in advance.

Please download and install http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
This is a utility from Microsoft that will assist in removing things from the add/remove dialog.

After you install, you run it from the start menu.  It lists everything in your add/remove, have them select the E-Prime entries they want to remove.  Please take care to only select the appropriate items as if you select something that is not E-Prime, you will have to reinstall it.

There may or may not be more than one E-Prime 2.x related item in this listing.  Please report back here so that others may find this information useful.

Hello Brandon,

We followed your instructions and downloaded the Windows Install Cleanup program.
Running this app does not uninstall EPRIME 2.0.1.57.

After trying to uninstall, the directory of EPRIME2 remains in the Program files.
However EPRIME2 does no more appear in the Windows Install Cleanup directory.

When tying to uninstall with the UninstallShield as usual,
an error message occurs saying :
1628 : failed to complete installation.

The EPRIME2 was still not removed.

What to do now ?

Best regards, D.Gounot

This package worked for me. Thanks, Mr. Cernicky!

These are the steps I took to remove it:

1. Ran the Windows uninstaller, saw that E-Prime remained in add/remove programs window
2. Re-installed E-Prime 2.0 Beta
3. Went to add/remove programs window again and saw two E-Prime icons clicked one and used the usual uninstall method, and worked!!
4. For the second E-Prime icon, just did the same thing and windows said it did not exist and removed automatically.
5. For the final step, I deleted the PST folder in C:/Program Files and deleted the entry in the start menu.

Hello mlee,

Your method is rather strange but it works !
I was able to remove EPRIME 2.0.1.57. Many thanks.

The problem is now that I am unable to use the version EPRIME 2.0.1.60.
During the preliminary dialog, I got :
"Error activating Beta.
Exception thrown at marker 1
(a symbole square) hexadecimal value 0x03 is an invalid character
line 1730, position 1962."
During a second attempt I got the same message with marker 8

How to activate version EPRIME 2.0.1.60 ?

Best regards, D.Gounot

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.  I believe the problem is in regards to some non-English character translations.  If you uncheck the "send details" box when activating, it should go through.

Thank you it works. Removing E-prime 2.0.1.57 from the program files was conclusive.
