Hello all,

I am a new user of E-Prime and have been having trouble trying to run an experiment that I have designed. Acquisition of EEG using EGI to extract ERP's and I specifically am hoping to induce GBA.

I had anticipated 4 blocks of 60 trials. Each trial consists of a 7 second movie (.wmv).
I have attached an example. Each .wmv is to be preceded by a timing point so that in the analysis I am able to identify the start point.

Problem is that I keep getting error messages. Like the following..."No video memory available to create video buffer" Error Number: -999; "An error occurred while attempting to load the movie. Marker: 236 Error: 0 (0x0)" I am able to run 8 of the little videos and then I get the error messages.

With my limited experience I have tried all the things that I can think of, having referred to the relevant E-Prime documentation. I have also referred to the PST Forum but there is not much about running movies. There was one suggestion to add InLine...LoadFactor 100, however this did not work in this instance.

Am I expecting too much of E-Prime to run 60 trials at a time? Each .wmv is 2MB.

I would greatly appreciate some/any advice on this.
Thank-you in anticipation.

Cheers,

EricaH

This could be due to a known resource leak that was corrected in an earlier version.  Your subject name implies you are using a much more recent version however (2.0.8.22).  If you do not mind attaching a .wmv sample here or in web support for review that would be helpful.  In addition, any information about your machine spec or attach a .ts report from the Help/About/TechSupport dialog.

Hello Brandon,

Searching through the E-Prime2ReferenceGuide reveals "DisplayDevice.RestoreVideoBuffers (method)" in E-Basic. Do I perhaps incorporate this/variation of this InLine for correcting the problem?

Thanks,

EricaH

This will not affect the issue you initially wrote about.  The problem is likely due to a resource leak or configuration we have not seen/accounted for.  I see that you created a web support ticket.  However, the movies did not attach.  Please open one of the existing threads you created and reattach them.

Brandon,

The files will not attach here they are too big... limit of 512KB.

I have emailed one file to the "info@" email address marked to your attention.
I will try again here though.

Thanks,

EricaH
