Hi, we’ve been using the E-prime Extensions for Tobii for two years now and I have the following questions concerning these integration packages:
1. Is there a newer version than Beta 4?
2. Is there a database with sample scripts using the extensions for Tobii? If not, can we use this forum to share user-developed scripts?
3. Are the E-prime Extensions compatible with e-prime 2.0? There are some topics in the forums where you say that the packages are compatible with e-prime 2.0, but our e-prime 2.0 doesn’t recognize neither the Tobii device nor scripts from 1.2 using the extensions for Tobii.

4. Has anyone observed errors in the eye-movements data collected with the extensions (under e-prime 1.2) as well as sudden crashes of the scripts that happen very often when the experiment is longer than 20-30 minutes? We’ve had such problems.

Sorry about the delay in response.
1. Is there a newer version than Beta 4?
There is a Beta 5 version 1.0.4.5. If you do not have this version, we can make arrangements for you to obtain it. I will contact you via email to make sure we have your correct shipping address.
2. Is there a database with sample scripts using the extensions for Tobii? If not, can we use this forum to share user-developed scripts?
Other than the samples we provide with the installation, we do not at this time provide other scripts. However we have plans to have a section on our website this summer which will provide sample scripts, paradigms and some explanations for each. So, we would like to use that format rather than the forum so that we can attempt to check the script and paradigms to verify that they meet certain “best practices”. We will certainly be asking for and accepting contributions from the user community. Alexander, we will ask you to contribute if you are willing.
We will also be including an area where we highlight the work of some labs.
3. Are the E-prime Extensions compatible with e-prime 2.0? There are some topics in the forums where you say that the packages are compatible with e-prime 2.0, but our e-prime 2.0 doesn’t recognize neither the Tobii device nor scripts from 1.2 using the extensions for Tobii.

We have not yet announced EET compatibility with E-Prime 2. We are in the final stages of testing.

Officially we are not giving a more specific date. However we are in the midst of updating documentation and running tests. So we fully expect this to be made available in early June. Please keep checking the web site now and again.

We have not observed this error ourselves nor had any reports of it. Would you be willing to open a web support request and provide the paradigm you are running so that we can look into it directly at PST? If you do, please include this message in your request. I hope we can share knowledge about E-prime Extensions for Tobii in this topic.
From the PST side, 2008 will be an active year for the EET. We are expecting two releases of updates this summer. One to allow the use of the EET with E-Prime 2 and another to allow for calibration directly in E-Prime. As we release these we expect to add additional resources to our website and to announce them on this forum. This will provide an opportunity to tap into the experience of the growing EET user community as well.
